Buakaw facing lawsuit.

18 Apr Posted by in News | Comments

I’ve been trying to find out today what the repercussions would be for Buakaw being as he fought on the Thai fight event with out the Por.Pramuk gyms consent.

From what I’ve read the Por.Pramuk boss said that he would take legal action against the boxer for competing without the gyms permission.

He did not expect to see Buakaw fight in Pattaya on this event and said; “Buakaw has never been like this before since he entered the boxing business and I’m preparing a case for legal action against him.”

Not only are they planning on taking action against Buakaw but they are also planning to take legal action against the Thai Fight organisers and the Sports Authority of Thailand for failing to prevent what transpired on their promotion.

It’s going to be interesting to see how this pans out.

Two things could potentially happen; first being that Buakaw is a huge commodity and the right amount of money talks in Thailand. His sponsors may have a hand in dealing with the financial side of things.

The other being that as much as everyone is saying how ill treated Buakaw has been i’m afraid it is a very common situation with the boxers in Thailand. Buakaw is contracted to the Por.Pramuk gym meaning he can not fight for another camp unless he has been sold on or his contract with them has finished. This stops boxers just floating around from gym to gym. He could be made an example of as not to give the green light for other fighters to breach their contracts.

You can read a great article on how the system works between boxer and camp on the mymuaythai website.

The picture above is after the fight when his father entered the ring. He said this was the only man who has stood by him through everything.
